Many times in life I have found myself in circumstances which then seemed unbearable. More times than not it was because of something I did or a decision I made based on self fulfillment or self-preservation. These are the times I have created the greatest suffering for myself. Then there is the kind of pain and suffering life dishes out and says, “here deal with this”.
There is something divinely provoked inside of me when I reach the point where I lay down everything I think I know about life. I honestly have to admit to myself that there is a greater schematic at work in the world than my perception of reality. Recently I’ve taken it upon myself to take an adventure into the world of physics and quantum mechanics. I would be foolish to think there isn’t something greater than I orchestrating everything that goes on in the Universe. The really crazy part of it all is the uncertainty in all of it. Uncertainty seems the only constant aside from change.
When I see the desert God sees the rain is coming. When I see the sorrow God see the compassion, love and understanding that flows from it. When I see the mountain I have to climb God sees the view I will have when I get there. My perceptions need to shift from 3 to 4 dimensional. What I see, feel, smell, hear, and touch, are only limited perceptions. The great reality exists eternally within the realm of unlimited possibility.
When I think of the experiences in my life where there was great angst and sorrow, it also helps me to know that no matter what I am going through at any particular time in my life it is almost insignificant in comparison to the cataclysmic events that go on around me at every turn . I suppose it’s all a matter of degrees. One thing I have found to help me in getting through difficult life circumstances, is the growth that always comes from walking through the pain willingly and with faith that my spirit tempers into compassion and kindness towards others. Pain is my greatest teacher and truest friend. It’s good to know that regardless of what I experience in the mental and emotional realm, there is a spiritual force at work in me and in the world which seems to transpose my pain into love for others. All I need to do is be willing to let go of any preconceived notions that I have any control over what happens outside of the moment. In the moment there is always perfect peace. Even so; I can’t always see the greater good in the world because of preconceptions I have about life and the way I think it is or should be.There is great comfort in knowing regardless of what happens in the here or here-after there is a power that directs and motivates love and compassion in the world. This truth is undeniable.
Be well, and know that whatever you are going through in life there is someone who has been through it before you and able to weather the storm. Meditate on things that are pure, honest, compassionate. Dig deep within and you will certainly find a well of love and compassion. These are the gifts of laying down pride and self knowledge. By allowing the universe to take its course in your life we become able to flow with the stream and not against it.
